There is a widespread belief that good leaders prevent conflict. The reality is that good leaders know how to manage conflict, because in any environment with diverse people and ideas, conflict is not only inevitable, but necessary for innovation and progress. What makes the difference is not the absence of conflict, but the intelligence with which it is approached.

The Conflict Management Skills Course within the PACT project takes place over 16 hours and is designed both for employees who want to better manage interpersonal conflicts, as well as for those who have coordination roles and need to mediate tensions in their teams.

The ability to identify and address conflicts is the first step in any effective resolution. Many people avoid naming a conflict for fear of making it worse. Students will discover that, paradoxically, bringing the conflict to the surface, with tact and courage, is the first step toward resolution.

Approaching conflict through collaboration, not confrontation, avoidance, or capitulation, is the central model of the course. Participants will understand that sustainable solutions are those in which all parties feel a win-win or, at least, respected. Active and empathetic listening in a conflict context are treated as fundamental tools, not optional skills.

The course addresses in detail the emotional dynamics of conflicts: how certain situations trigger intense emotional reactions, what are the behavioral patterns that escalate conflict, and how we can consciously choose constructive responses even under pressure.

Assertive expression in conflict situations, identifying viable solutions and obtaining real commitment from all parties to resolution complete a training course that transforms conflict from a source of stress into a tool for clarifying and strengthening professional relationships.
